Privacy notice
This notice explains what personal information PriceIQ Ltd collects, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it. We have written it in plain English rather than legal boilerplate, because a privacy notice nobody can read protects nobody.
In short: if you fill in our enquiry form we get your name, role, company, email and what you told us. We use it to reply to you and nothing else. We don’t sell it, we don’t advertise with it, and we delete it when it’s no longer needed.
Who we are
PriceIQ Ltd is the data controller for the information described here. We are registered in England and Wales, company number [ 00000000 ], with a registered office at [ address ], Manchester. Our registration with the Information Commissioner’s Office is [ number ].

What we collect, and when
When you use the enquiry form. Your name, role, company, work email, turnover band, sector, and whatever you write in the message. This is collected because you chose to send it.
When you email or call us. Whatever you include, plus a record of the correspondence.
When you visit the site. Aggregate, anonymous statistics such as which pages were viewed and roughly which country visitors came from. We use privacy-focused analytics that do not set cookies and do not track you across other websites. We cannot identify you from this.
The self-assessment on our home page. Your answers stay in your browser. Nothing is transmitted to us and nothing is stored. We do not know your score unless you tell us.
Why we are allowed to hold it
Under UK GDPR we rely on legitimate interests for responding to business enquiries: you contacted us about a professional service, and replying is the obvious and expected outcome. Where we later work together, we rely on performance of a contract. Where the law requires us to keep records, we rely on legal obligation.
Client data during an engagement
When we carry out work for a client we may process business data belonging to that client, which can include information about their customers. In that situation we act as a processor on the client’s written instructions, under a signed data processing agreement, and the client remains the controller.
Our standing practice is to ask for anonymised or pseudonymised data wherever the analysis allows it. We do not need to know who a customer is in order to find out what they were charged. At the end of an engagement, data is returned or securely deleted on the client’s instruction.
Who else sees it
We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. We use a small number of service providers to run the business, and they process data only on our instructions:
- Our website host and form service, which receives enquiry form submissions
- Our email and calendar provider
- Our accountants, where a transaction requires it
Some of these providers operate outside the UK, including in the United States. Where that happens, transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or an adequacy decision.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that go nowhere: deleted within 24 months.
- Client correspondence and records: kept for the engagement and then for 6 years, to meet legal and accounting obligations.
- Client datasets: returned or deleted at the end of the engagement, as instructed.
- Site analytics: anonymous and aggregate, so not tied to you at all.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you what we hold, correct it, delete it, restrict what we do with it, or provide it in a portable format. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests. Exercising any of these is free and we will respond within one month.
Email hello@priceiq.co.uk and we will handle it directly rather than sending you through a process.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would rather you raised it with us first so we can put it right.
Cookies
This site sets no tracking or advertising cookies, which is why you are not being interrupted by a consent banner. Our analytics are cookie-free by design.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Client data is handled under confidentiality agreements, transferred by secure means, and access is limited to those doing the work. We do not hold client data for longer than the work requires.
Changes
If we change this notice we will update the date at the top. Material changes affecting existing clients will be communicated directly.
Before you publish: replace the bracketed placeholders, confirm the retention periods match how you actually work, and check the named service providers against what you end up using. This notice is a solid, honest starting point written for your situation, but it is not legal advice, and if a large client’s procurement team reviews it you want it to be accurate rather than aspirational.
